"We’ve been customers of this office for over 10 years and, up until recently, had always stayed loyal despite higher premiums because we felt taken care of. Unfortunately, our most recent experience has been incredibly disappointing.
Last April, our daughter turned 16. In May, the office contacted us to ask if she was a licensed driver. At that time, she had not yet passed her test, and I clearly stated I would notify them once she did.
In July, we followed through and contacted the office to add full coverage to her pickup and list her as the primary driver. We received updated insurance cards, and our premium increased...which we reasonably understood to mean everything had been properly processed.
Fast forward to February: our daughter hit a deer, and the truck was deemed a total loss at $14,500. After initially moving forward with the claim, we were then told it would not be covered because she was “not listed as a primary driver.”
This makes no sense. We explicitly contacted the office to add her, accepted the higher premium, and were issued updated insurance cards. If we were trying to avoid paying for proper coverage, why would we have reported that she was the driver in the accident?
This appears to be a clerical error on their end, yet we are the ones being held responsible. After over a decade of loyalty, this situation has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

To provide some context, our agency relies on the information shared with us at the time of quoting and policy changes. In prior conversations, we had asked about any youthful drivers in the household and were advised there were none. When the vehicle was later added to the policy, it was not indicated that your daughter would be the primary driver.
Because driver information directly impacts coverage and underwriting decisions, discrepancies can affect how a claim is ultimately handled by the insurance carrier.
Our priority remains ensuring that everything is handled thoroughly and appropriately, and that you are supported throughout."

When a claim is made on the policy, they get the claim processed quickly. State Farm has insured us foe over 40 years. They have done a good job."
